Climate protection.
CO2e footprint 24 hours after the end of transport on the myKOMBIVERKEHR portal.

As in previous years, our company’s customers continued to make an active contribution to environmental protection in 2025 through their commitment to combined transport. Every journey made by the climate-friendly rail network results in lower emissions of climate-damaging carbon dioxide – compared with transporting the same volume of goods by road.

In absolute terms, this amounted to a total reduction of 1.0 million tonnes of carbon dioxide in the 2025 financial year, achieved through an average of 2,600 truck-to-rail transport operations per day over 248 operating days.

In order to meet the growing demands of freight forwarders, who are increasingly reliant on rail emissions data due to sustainability reporting requirements, we began working with shipzero in the 2025 financial year – a new partner for the accounting of transport emissions whose calculation methodology complies with both the current GLEC standard and the ISO 14083 standard. Since March 2026, the transport orders accounted for in this way have been automatically imported into Kombiverkehr’s order processing system on a daily basis and are transferred from there to the meinKOMBIVERKEHR portal via an interface solution. Customers are expected to be able to access the emissions reports from June 2026. From then on, it will be possible to view the absolute CO2e emissions and the hypothetical savings compared to continuous long-distance road freight transport for every transport order from the last 24 months in the order overview, or to have CO2 certificates issued.
